Frequently Asked Questions

“Do you need to be able to swim?”

Yes. For safety reasons we do require you to be able to swim.

“What social events happen at the club, if any?”

We are a social club! We host regular fun rowing events, regattas, dinners and club socials for members. Come and take part!

“How much is membership?”

Membership for your first year rowing is £190. There are other membership options available such as temporary and student memberships. Find out more here.

“How far up the river can you row?”

Our boundaries are from Victoria Bridge (at the Harbour) all the way up to Ruthrieston Burn approx. 200m downstream from the Brig O’Dee. It works out at about a 3k stretch of river from point to point.

“How will I progress?”

After the Learn-to-Row Programme, you will join the Novice Men and Women Squads that train and row together regularly. You will the option to learning to row in various sizes of boats, with the aim of participating in local and national competitions.
